Night City Racing
More games to play
Night City Racing is a free 3D driving game you can play right in your browser with no download. You race against four AI opponents across 16 challenges set on city streets, highways, and an airfield, earning cash to buy faster supercars as you go. It also works at school or work anywhere browser games are allowed. A split-screen two-player mode on the same computer makes it one of the better local-multiplayer racing options around.
What is Night City Racing?
Night City Racing is a 3D car game built around short, punchy races that get harder as you progress. You pick a car, line up against four AI drivers, and try to finish first across 16 different challenges. The setting shifts from downtown streets to open highways and eventually an airfield, so the scenery and pace change enough to stay interesting. Between races you earn cash, spend it on a faster car, and repeat. There is also a free drive mode where you can explore the map and pull off whatever stunts you like without any pressure.
Steering and drifting
The controls are keyboard-only on desktop. Here is the full layout.
| Action | Key |
|---|---|
| Accelerate | Up arrow or W |
| Brake / reverse | Down arrow or S |
| Steer left | Left arrow or A |
| Steer right | Right arrow or D |
| Handbrake (drift) | Space bar |
Race challenges and bonus rounds
The 16 main races are the core of the game, but five repeatable bonus challenges add extra cash on top. These bonus rounds have specific goals such as racing an airplane down the airfield or beating a tight clock. The table below covers the two types of events you will encounter.
| Event type | Goal | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Race (16 total) | Finish ahead of 4 AI opponents | Cash payout |
| Bonus challenge (5 types) | Complete a special task, e.g. beat the clock | Extra cash bonus |
Buying and upgrading cars
Every race and bonus challenge pays out cash. Spend it on a new car from the garage to get better top speed and handling for the harder later tracks. The difficulty ramps up across the 16 challenges, so keeping your car upgraded is the main way to stay competitive. Cheaper cars are fine for the early city races, but the airfield events reward raw speed more than anything else.
Tips for winning the harder races
- Use the handbrake through tight city corners to drift and keep more speed than braking normally would.
- Grind the bonus challenges between race unlocks. They pay reliably and are faster than retrying a race you keep losing.
- On the airfield stages, pick the straightest line and avoid the grass. There are no walls to bounce off and speed loss on the grass is punishing.
- In free drive mode, practice the handbrake drift before committing to it in a race. The timing is short and sharp.
- Split-screen mode uses the same keyboard, so agree on controls before starting or you will both fight for the same keys.
